Blah...oblivion pawns morrowind in everyway...but heres some things i miss from morrowind

killing 50 guards from a roof top becuz there too stupid to grab a bow

raining under bridges

flying over ghost gate when ur not supposed to get passed it

ppl standing in the same spot their whoel life

ppl falling out of the sky cuz they dont realize what goes up must come down

killing the gods

swinging a sword 52 times when ur right in front of someone and never hitting them once

the prohecy has been broken...blah...blah...blah,blah,blah plz load a save game

bringing huge jelly fish thingys into town and wacthing them kill guards...

instantly disposing of bodies

chintin

getting the price off my head for 0 gold

raising my longsword skill to 999999999 by using the bound trick

crappy quests

walking everywhere

And, cold, perform, what they did warm,
And never rest in peace

So, every night the stag betrays
the love he could not keep
and the king and host, desert their post
to hunt and never sleep

And so they shall betray and hunt
Until the day they show
that they somehow fulfill the vow
they broke so long ago"

raining under bridges

Still present in Oblivion, afaik. There is no way every rain drop can have collision.

Zitat:
flying over ghost gate when ur not supposed to get passed it

If storms can get past/over it, levitating nerds can, too. I see no problem there.

Zitat:
ppl standing in the same spot their whoel life

Actually, I hate searching people in Oblivion if there isn't a quest marker for them. They are impossible to find if you don't know their exact schedule. And in most cases, nobody in the bloody game will be able to tell you.

Zitat:
swinging a sword 52 times when ur right in front of someone and never hitting them once

That's actually something the Devs got right. Although it is only slightly less frustrating to be able to hit something but do no damage, in contrast to not being able to hit them in the first place.

Zitat:
the prohecy has been broken...blah...blah...blah,blah,blah plz load a save game

You like unkillable NPCs more, that even the mightiest spell can't sent directly to hell? Really? Well, I dont.

Zitat:
bringing huge jelly fish thingys into town and wacthing them kill guards...

Just because critters can't follow you into town that doesn't mean they can't kill guards for you.

Zitat:
instantly disposing of bodies

Keeps the game world tidy. I desperately miss that one.

Zitat:
getting the price off my head for 0 gold

raising my longsword skill to 999999999 by using the bound trick

Don't cheat?

Zitat:
crappy quests

Crappy quests is what Bethesda calls the "Oblivion Main Quest"...

Zitat:
walking everywhere

Fun, indeed!

....well theres 2 sides of a coin...now thats a fun quest
things i miss continued

no horses
ordinators that suck becuz u put there armor on and they hunt u forever
ecentric ladies that kill u when u put their cloths on

thing that i like from oblivion
horses,
traps
ppl actually say aloud everthing that they say
very hard to break plots
cyroldill is bigger in total area if u count dungeons and stuff
no ashstorms
better graphics
way better quests (into a painting, througha nightmare darkly, caught in the hunt, the wayward knights, where spirits have lease, the sirens deception,
AND u wanna talk about bad main quest simply mention the neverar, or the dreamers....come on now how many ppl actually finished morrwinds mq? not many, took me years before i even wanted to finish the main quest...
citys are way better
forests
buy houses (as opposed to killing a guy and sleeping in some other persons house)
magic is good, not crappy like in morrowind...
leveled equipment and loot as well as monsters so no more stepping into dungeon and dying before it finishes loading
bandits
no stupid imperial cult
no more jumping across entire map

Well, actually more people finished the MW MQ than the go-close-all-oblivion-gates-and-kill-as-many-mythic-dawns-as-possible (per cent).

Things that are crap in Oblivion:
Oblivion
"mq"
Leveled Crap™
idiot translations
undiscoverable npcs
unkillable npcs
unmounting before you can fight, while your horse's already half dead
stupid master trainers wanting me to close some quirky gates
all the things they left out in the scripting engine
no levitation
no crossbows (or throwing weapons btw.)
no spears
official plugins
no 'lock' spell
artifacts
birthsigns
enchanting&spellmaking
no "absorb" for staves
guards freaking out
no chance for a mercator char to earn a living
items disappearing from chests
no fruit trees
"this lock can't be picked, you need a key blahblah"
skill perks and special element features hardcoded
standard-faces
merchants not buying "stolen goods"
fighting/combat system
"disposition maxed"
always going for beggars in TG quests
vampirism
no teleportation (mages guild, divine, almsivi..)
overpowered ordinary leveled "unique" items
too few quests

of course they didn't spend all night making the graphics engines compatible
textures are (still) crap

things good in Oblivion:
armorer perk: 100%+ equipment
stacking of items
acrobatics dodge perk
security skill
persuasion
marksman zoom perk
poisons (although the production of those is crap)
black soulgems (i.e. being able to fetch human souls)
DB quests
TG quests (most of the time)
nice misc quests
yielding

me thinks this is enough...

All you said may be right (though in my eyes it is not) - but that still does not really speak for Oblivion. It is just the technical progress, which is normal.
What really made Morrowind so much better was the whole character-skill-leveling-equipment-system. It was so much more fun, really. I will not go into detail here, but that is the essential aspect of such an RPG and if the essential aspect is a lot better in MW, then the whole game is better... My point of view at least. Wink

hmmm....i would make another list of things beter in oblivion but i really have to do some more on my application project (especially since, now, apparently, tes 4 has encountered an error, and needs to close, anything you were working on might not be saved' (and now the data is corrupt!) oh well start over...
but as for what you said grabba, i see what you mean, i like the oblivion fighting system better, but i see where youre coming from...however oblivion (i think at least) has a much better immersion effect, and the quests (which might i add any elder scrolls would be nothing without them, no monsters would be able to fight, to npcs would retaliate, and you wouldnt be able to buy stuff, and much more (at least this is from my perspective of how the game runs [through quests]) are much better, from the technical ones running in the background, to the quests that you do, they are way better. the actual quests that you do are no longer just go here get this item or kill this guy, there are orginal ones and very fun ones, i actually want to explore the wild, and raid dungeons and find little towns and raining dogs are always fun Smile.....anyway, morrwind was a great game...but id take oblivion over it any day...theiving is 10,000 times better in oblivion too... ok well thats all for now

What I miss most is the story. I've encountered some various fun quests, and the entire Dark Brotherhood was AMAZING, but overall, the story is too bland, cliche, and shallow.

With Morrowind, if you really got into it, you started noticeing all the various political factions being caught up in the main quest, you had the whole shades of gray deal - the Nerevarine wasn't really THAT great of a guy, and Dagoth Ur has somewhat selfless motives albiet with terrible ways of going about them.

I also liked that you felt as though you CHOSE to be the Nerevarine. You weren't exactly destined to be the Nerevarine, you were just one of many possible candidates. To some extent the various political forces were kind of pulling you around, but you did feel as though you had control at all the right places.

I also like the fact that I am just dumped in Seyda Neen with very little direction. Oblivion points you off to Chorrol immediately, and you are guided by the hand for the rest of the game to the EXACT point for any and every quest.

hmm ok i see what you mean... definatly oblivion has its flaws, but the main thing ppl dont like i think is that morrowind was not geered for just someone who plays like everyonce in awhile, like it was geered more for 'hardcore' gamers, oblivion was designed to be funner for more audiances(and as such, it includes things like, not dumping them off in a town with very little to go on), i love morrowind, but i still like oblivion better, but morrowind was great...hmm well in graohics oblivion is better, i think in quests its better too, but not in the main quest, i like the combat better in oblivion, and if u find it to easy, slide the difficulty all the way up and decide if you still think that lvl scaling makes it too easy, i like theiving in oblivion better, but morrowind has a certain feel about it that i like, more varity, more distinct regions, different political forces, and, well im not sure, but im just gonna stick with the elderscrolls kicks ass....

I really like the feel and mood of Morrowind. I liked it's political factions, the legion, feeling like you got more powerful in leveling, and how good loot was rare, and hard to get. I prefer the combat, and stealth in Oblivion, and the graphics , but thats about it. I like Morrowind better for now, but as more and more mods fix Oblivion and make it better I think soon a modded Oblivion will be my top game for a long time. Very Happy

Yes choclatly oblivion with sprinkles, a banana, and a cherry or two on top is much better than plain old ice cream! err....vanilla oblivion
